Kate Davies

Kate Davies writes stories that find magic in ordinary, overlooked things — a pebble on a lakeshore, an egg-shaped stone, the quiet hills where ancient monuments still stand. The Keystone of Stonehenge, her debut in The Pebble Chronicles, follows Athor and Eric as they cross legendary landscapes to protect Stonehenge itself, and it grew out of Kate's own love of folklore, wild places, and the small, unnoticed things that might be watching over them.

She's drawn to the idea that heroes don't need to be big to matter — sometimes they're barely the size of a pebble, and the bravest thing they do is stay loyal to a friend when things get frightening. When she isn't writing, Kate can usually be found wandering Britain's ancient sites, keeping an eye out for auroras.
